JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Informatics Analyst works with the Data Management and Analysis (DMA) group to integrate Omnitracs products and services to/from customer back office and legacy applications and develop new applications according to internal and external customer needs and specifications.  This is a technical role focused on building technical tools and structures based on established specifications.  This position will develop and maintain internal web applications, generate ad hoc reports and regular datasets for end-users using system tools and databases.  This role will program and maintain report forms and formats, information dashboards, and other end-user portals or resources.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Develop web applications for internal customer reporting and research
  • Maintain current developed applications, providing code increments as needed
  • Develop, review and revise code with team and develop testing plans before deployment to production
  • Support staging, testing and production environments
  • Interface with various other departments to ensure complete end to end functionality of production applications
  • Download accounting data from the Network Management Center, apply filters, and provide usage data to NGB (the billing system) for Omnitracs’ US, European, and Mexican entities on a daily basis
  • Create invoices and provide monthly reports to NGB
  • Provide ERP functionality (customer data) to NGB for European and Mexican entities
  • Provide maintenance of over-the-air upgrade tools that are used by the Engineering department
  • Provide Network Monitoring functionality to the network management computer for the Amber Alert application
  • Support change control board (CCB) tools for Omnitracs
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues with the automated panic testing functionality for customers, on-call web applications for global network services, and the Operations interface for Amber Alert
  • Create ad hoc reports and analysis to various support groups to assist in answering customer questions
  • Create general query and reporting capability of network management center data
  • Assist with on-call support for critical business needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
  • EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in systems engineering or related technical role; Minimum of 3 years’ experience in XML /SOAP (Web Services) C# .Net, Java, SQL, WPF / XAML, HTML

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry
  • Working knowledge of XML /SOAP (Web Services) C# .Net, Java, SQL, WPF / XAML, HTML
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting tools and technologies
  • Working knowledge of informatica and business works
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve production issues via troubleshooting and identification of root case
  • Ability to be proactive in preventing production issues with thorough QA process and department development standards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with both internal Omnitracs customers and external international partners
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, including executives and management
  • Ability to multi-task on several projects and collaborate with groups and customers of various technical skill levels
  • Ability to prioritize projects and escalate issues to the appropriate parties as necessary
